I woke up in the KOA again to the snores of A and J. I went outside to read a little of my book, and B insisted upon taking me to the camp's breakfast. I had cinnamon bagels. She had biscuits and gravy. When we got back, Dad was leaving to go to Rosauer's and B and I left with him. We got sandwich stuff and breakfast stuff for A, J and Mom, who hadn't gone to breakfast. A had just gone to take a shower, so I read while she took one and J and Mom ate. Then we got in the car to go back to Yellowstone. We went to see another waterfall, then headed to another geyser field.

Eagle's Nest (A thinks they were actually ospreys) |
Baby buffalo and Mama running by the side of the road. |
SO CUTE!!!!!!!!! |

Pronghorn? |

Waterfall |
River-y bit |
See the clouds? |
These are called bobby socks trees because it looks like they are wearing bobby socks. |
Spring |
Look at all the beautiful bacteria! |
More bacteria! |
Poor little tree is being petrified. |
Steam vents |
It's a lake! |
More steam vents. These ones are seasonal, though. They slowly boil off the snowmelt each year and then... nothing. |
Geyser |
This is a geyser that is either dormant or simply not erupting. There is a difference. |
YAY for foul-smelling steam! |
BOOM! It's actually a lot less dramatic. |
Sounding - less dramatic sounding. |
It's a dragon circle. Like a fairy circle, see, but for dragons. |
You could boil yourself in there. |
La, la, la, I love geysers! |
See the hill in the background, middle ground... |
This one? Scientists think that this is the oldest geyser in Yellowstone because of the mineral deposits. |
We then headed to see the Grand Prismatic Spring. It was super beautiful, and amazing!
Steam off Grand Prismatic and The Other One. |
BACTERIA! |
It's The Other One. |
So pretty. |
Did someone lose an umbrella? |
This is Grand Prismatic. LOVE IT! (In the style of Wheezy from Dragon Tales [C, that one's for you.]) |
Rainbows. |
Beautiful |
I would lose myself in those waters. No, literally, I would lose my life. |
On to the Cliff Geyser Field.
Hot Springs |
This is Cliff. |
Cliff goes BOOM!-ish. |
Baby |
Hello Spirits of the Dead. Or Gelth from The Unquiet Dead (Doctor Who: New Who: Season One. Dickens and Nine!) |
Cliff |
And again! |
Baby |
How is this real?! |
Waterfall! |
This would be outer space except trees. |
Thank you, past S, for having a straight horizon. It's really helping me out. |
Then, we went to the Old Faithful Welcome Center and waited about forty-five minutes to see the next eruption. It was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!! Then we had ice cream.
Old Faithful. |
Psych! |

It's Old Faithful's babies! |
We hit the road again to see Yellowstone Lake and West Thumb.
Seriously smelly, also messy! |
It's a real lake! That won't kill you! |
The silver grass is dying. |
I like shadows. |
Tree shadows and tiny spring. |
It's a lake! But it still smells! |
Going to the lake. |
Buttercups, or similar. |
Feet! |
Doctor Who shirt |
Potholes and buttercups. |
Springs in the lake. |
One boat. |
Fishermen used to throw their cleaned fish in here so they would cook. Then they would fish them out and eat them. |
Mountains. |
Let's do another one of those tilty horizons, why don't we? |
This is actually Mars. |
How many Easter eggs could you boil in here? Is part of a legit conversation I heard. |
Sun glare! |
It's an Abyss. |
It is also black. |
We went into Grand Teton, but there was an accident and we couldn't see what we wanted to. We turned around and ate dinner in a cafe we found on the way back to the camp. I wrote a poem about driving through Yellowstone at midnight.
Yellowstone At Midnight or
A deathly silence
A deadly quiet
The whole world paused for breath
Waiting, in this accumulation of trees
For a breath, for a reason to move
Meters away, geysers go off, not caring
About the passage of time, or light, or life
But here, in the forest, the dark and the quiet eat everything.
We reached the cabin at about one. SO TIRED!

Chorus of the Day!
And they say
She's in the Class A Team
Stuck in her daydream
Been this way since eighteen
But lately her face seems
Slowly sinking, wasting
Crumbling like pastries
And they scream
The worst things in life come free to us
Cause we're just under the upper hand
And go mad for a couple grams
And she don't want to go outside tonight
And in a pipe she flies to the Motherland
And sells love to another man
It's too cold outside
For angels to fly
Angels to fly
Last Chorus of the Day:
Young Volcanoes by Fall Out Boy
