The Songs of My People

I'm totally stealing this term from the internet, and my friend C, who coined this specific usage. Anyway, a 'song of my people' means it is a song that I will run across the house to hear. The time that made C use this term happened when my mother was watching Glee, and they sang Sing by Ed Sheeran. I ran up from my bedroom and across the house to jump into the living room, yell, "This is an Ed Sheeran song!" and start singing. I have many of these songs.
