What I'm... No. 11

As you might have noticed, I've changed up the page. I've connected it to my website, which was created for English class, but actually houses my writing portfolio. Because of this, I've made the design more mature, but nothing is going to happen to my writing. I think.

Reading:
Books:
Star Wars: Aftermath: Life Debt by Chuck Wendig

This book was so much better than the last one. The writing style was much better and the story line more coherent. But I feel so sorry for Wedge. Even with a universe change, he can't escape doomed love.

The Martian by Andy Weir

I LOVED THIS BOOK! It is amazing, and so scientific, and just beautiful. And hilarious.

Star Wars: The Approaching Storm by Alan Dean Foster

I really liked this book. It is a very intriguing look into Anakin's character, and how that differs from other Jedi.

Star Wars: Fate of the Jedi: Backlash by Aaron Allston

That's Ben Skywalker on the cover. I love him. I also love this book.

Little House by Boston Bay by Melissa Wiley

You can never go wrong with a Little House book.

An Unfinished Life: John F. Kennedy by Robert Dallek

This book was okay, but long and a bit on the dry side. I really love Jackie and the kids, but they weren't discussed much. The bits about the Cuban Missile Crisis were good, but most of the book is about how uncertain everyone was and how they disagreed with Jack.

The Last Man on the Moon: Astronaut Eugene Cernan and America's Race in Space by Eugene Cernan

This was very good. It was quite funny, though Gene Cernan is not my favorite astronaut.

Beyond: Our Future in Space by Chris Impey

This book was really interesting. The bits of the narrative were very nice.  I learned a lot about current technology, and what might happen in the future is fascinating.

We Seven by THE ASTRONAUTS Themselves

This was a wonderful book, and I really liked it.  I just don't know if the astronauts actually wrote it, or if they just signed their names.

On Tide Mill Lane by Melissa Wiley

Again, I love Little House. Not much more to say.

First Women: The Grace and Power of America's Modern First Ladies by Kate Andersen Brower

This was a great book. I enjoyed it very much, and I love Jackie Kennedy even more now.

Blogs:
Elemental Legacy

This is Ellie Mendeleev, founder of the Elemental Legacy. This is a story blog using the Sims 3 as a vehicle for the story. This one has children named after the elements of the Periodic Table.

A Rolling Stone Gathers No Moss

This is just a regular legacy, except the Sims have green skin.

Listening:
Music:
Green Day

I love Green Day, and they just released a new album on the 7th.

Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness

I'm just starting to love this band. Canyon Moon is my favorite.

Florence + the Machine

The Lumineers

I love the Lumineers, particularly Ophelia. Which is a song.

The 1975

I love the 1975, but some of their lyrics are questionable. Their sound is really nice, but if you really listen to the songs, they are a bit problematic.

Of Monsters and Men

King and Lionheart is my favorite song, and this photo is really nice.

The Beatles

I love the Beatles. Just good solid songs.

My Chemical Romance

I love MCR, and (don't judge me, okay) I read a great fanfiction about them where Gerard is a priest, and the others work in a salon. Frank gets stigmata (which are the wounds of Christ, typically received by saints who deeply love Jesus and want to feel his pain [Frank is an atheist, which makes this extra bizarro]) and then they have to save him. It was very intense and quite good.

The Piano Guys

I saw the Piano Guys in concert recently. It was amazing. I love Steven Sharp Nelson (he's the one playing the cello [which I also play]). The show was so amazing and super fun. My friend thought I was going to hyperventilate.

Watching:
Movies:
Ghostbusters

I really loved this movie. The ladies are all amazing, and Holtzmann especially makes me so happy. Plus, Kevin is hilarious, and just the special effects were amazing and the score was great and it just makes me so happy, okay? Plus, it came out on DVD today, and I might watch it this weekend.

The Martian

I liked this movie, not as much as the book, though. First off, it was stunning. The panoramas were amazing, and it was visually beautiful. It was quite balanced in epic landscapes versus human problems. But, they changed some things from the book towards the end, and the changes sucked. They didn't make sense according to reality and NASA code. Ugh.

TV:
The Flash

So, I watched the first episode of Season 3 last week, but I didn't watch today's episode yet. My brother had homework, and so did I, I guess. I really love Barry Allen, and the show in general, but Flashpoint makes me anxious because everything is different. Also, are Jessie and Wally going to be speedsters?

Worst Cooks in America

I love this show. John Henson is just amazing and funny. Plus, they just do some really dumb stuff, and it cracks me up.

Worst Bakers in America

The people on this show are so stupid; it's amazing that they are alive. They are just so dumb and defy all logic and sense.

Dancing With the Stars

Eh. I like Dancing with the Stars, but I don't really like ballroom, and the amateurs often make me mad. Plus, I can't stand Ryan Lochte and he won't fricking get eliminated. But Laurie Hernandez is my favorite.

YouTube:
Geek & Sundry

I have been watching Critical Role, a D&D show that is amazing. I'm still waiting for Titansgrave Season 2.

danisnotonfire

Dan is always awesome...

AmazingPhil

...and Phil is always amazing.

That's all! I hope you liked the remodel.

Will you buy me a house of gold?
And when your father turns to stone,
Will you take care of me?"

I Love Tea

I love tea. This should not be a surprise to you, given the title. I’ve always loved tea but mostly flavored teas. You know, the ones by Lipton that don’t actually taste like tea, just fake fruit flavoring. I love apple teas and chai teas, the more intensely cinnamony the better. And mint teas, just before bed, piping hot. Always make me feel better, and less like I couldn’t breathe. (I have constantly have a cough.) Anyway, when I was visiting my Grandparent’s house this summer, I had a green tea, plain green tea, and water. I drank five cups of tea that day, and haven’t gone back since. Where many people obsessively drink coffee, I drink tea. Every morning decaffeinated (yes, I know, the caffeine is the point of drinking tea in the morning, but I don’t like the feeling of knowing that my brain chemistry has been messed with) plain green tea out of this awesome super-insulated, big-as-my-head mug. I love tea, to the depths of my soul, and want nothing more that to be in my bed right now, curled up with a mug of tea. (I’m currently sitting under a desk in my AP Literature class [we have a sub] and trying to come up with an idea for an essay by intensely procrastinating. Yay! :/

Chorus of the Day!

I wanna scream I love you from the top of my lungs

But I'm afraid that someone else will hear me
You can only blame your problems on my world for so long
Before it all becomes the same old song
As soon as we hit the hospital, I know we're gonna leave this town
And get new passports get out now
